Three's a Crowd

Brannon and I went to Tropic a couple weeks ago and we stopped in Cedar to visit some friends before we went to Tropic. We didn't have a lot of time to see everyone that we wanted to, so next time we come down hopefully we can stay for a bit longer. Anyway, I wanted to take a pic of some friends of mine and their babies. Taj is about a month younger than their little ones, but he carries his weight:) It was fun to get to see what Taj will be like when he gets to be their age. A month, even a week makes a huge difference with a baby. They grow too fast:(

Economy Hair-do

We are all feeling the effects of the downturn of the economy and life's little luxuries are becoming a thing of the past. One little luxury in particular that I enjoyed was getting "my hair did." However, with prices rising on everything I can't afford to have my hair done anymore. First of all, my hair is super thick and they have to mix up twice as much color to get the job done. Second, they want to charge me another 25.00 bucks just to trim my hair. Maybe they charge double for cutting thick hair too. Anyway, it costs about 100.00 just to get my hair done at a cheap salon and I never know what color my hair is going to be when I get done. So my hair was looking a little shabby to me a couple weeks ago and I decided I would take my hair into my own hands. The first thing I did was cut myself some bangs, which was scary and I don't really like them anyway. I never like my bangs when I have them cut. I guess I thought cutting them would get rid of the itch to get my hair done, well it didn't. I made a little trip to Target and picked me out some nice hair color in a box. The great news is that it only cost me about $12 for two boxes of color--way cheaper than a salon. Anyway, it was pretty easy to apply and really not messy at all. I think it turned out pretty dang good and I think I like the "economy" hair-do afterall:)

Blankie Boy

Taj is so in to feeling things now and he loves his fuzzy blue blankie. I have like four of them, so if I lose one, it wouldn't be such a crime. Plus, I can give him one while I wash the others. He loves to grab the blanket in both hands and rub it on his face and head. It's hilarious because he combs all of his hair down in his face and he always has a goofy grin on his face when he does it. He loves to chew on it too. I swear he's just like a puppy dog. The blankets get pretty nasty because he chews on them and there are squishy wet spots all over them. Thanks goodness for the washing machine! Anyway, I gave him one of the blankets to play with while I showered and I got this pic of him.

More Pics!

Cool leave on our front porch in Salt Lake.

We had tons of snow in Monticello--like four feet!

My mom picked out some snazzy pink jammies
for us to wear on Christmas Eve.

My view from our porch in Salt Lake-not so bad:)

Taj in his new bed--such a big boy!

Post-Christmas Blues

Our first Christmas as a "family"

Super cool sunset in South Ogden

My neighbor's apricot. I was scared to take this pic
because there were mean-looking dogs running loose around
the neighborhood and I narrowly escaped coming face-to-face
with them. I thought the snow on the apricot look kinda cool.

Blue Mountain with horse head and snow on her side.

Taj's first Christmas:) We had to hold him up. He kept tipping
over into the glittery red package and he ended up with tons of
of glitter in his hair. I was still picking it out of his hair for days
afterwards.

So Christmas and New Years is over and it's back to real world I guess. The day after Christmas is so anti-climatic for me because I look forward to it from about October and then it's suddenly over in one day. It's almost like I expected Christmas Day to last longer than 24 hours. I wondered why I felt so bad and I think it's because everyone has to go back to where they came from and people resume their everyday hubub tasks without the Christmas spirit. There's no excitement. I wish we could maintain the Christmas spirit year round, but then I wonder if Christmas would be so exciting. Hmmm...anyway, we did have a good Christmas with family and it was nice to escape Salt Lake City for a while. As for New Year's resolutions, well I'm taking my time resolving to do things. I've never stuck to a resolution and I think it's because life gets in the way, so this year I've got to come up with a resolution that works when life does get in the way. I've included some pics from Christmas and some awesome nature scenes. It's so fun to take pictures in the winter!
